Common questions
Can I use FarmHerd on my phone?
Yes. FarmHerd works on phones, tablets and computers in the web browser, and can be added to your phone's home screen.
Does it work without signal?
Yes, if you turn it on for your phone. Treatments, weights, notes and jobs done can be recorded with no signal and are sent once there is signal, and animal records you have opened stay readable.
Can my vet or adviser see my records?
Only if you invite them, only the records you choose, and only until the date you set. You can take their access away at any time.
Does FarmHerd report to BCMS for me?
No. FarmHerd lists your cattle births, deaths and moves with the details you need, and you report them on CTS Online yourself, then tick them off in FarmHerd.
Can I bring my records from another app or spreadsheets?
Yes. Animals, weights, milk, medicines, breeding and money can be imported from Excel or CSV files, and cattle from the BCMS Cattle on Holding list. Every row is checked before anything is saved.
Can I take my records with me if I leave?
Yes. The business owner can download everything the business keeps in FarmHerd, at any time, as spreadsheets.
