Privacy.Plainly Put.

How this website handles personal information. The short version: no tracking, no adverts, and your emails are only used to reply to you.

Who we are

This website is run by FarmHerd Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 17568190. We are responsible for the personal information described here. Write to us at [email protected] about anything on this page.

No tracking and no adverts

This website has no analytics, no advertising, no social media buttons and no tracking. It does not set its own cookies, and it has no forms or accounts. It does not ask for or store your name or contact details.

Our hosting company

The website is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any website host, Cloudflare handles your device's internet address and basic details of each visit (the page asked for, the time and your browser) so it can deliver the pages and protect the site from attacks. Cloudflare may use a strictly necessary security cookie for that protection. We do not use this information to identify you.

When you email us

If you email us, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and whatever you write. We use it only to reply to you and to deal with what you asked about, for example setting your farm up on FarmHerd. Our email is provided by Microsoft 365.

We keep emails for as long as we need them for that and for our business records, and then delete them. We never sell your information or use it for marketing without asking you first.

Why we are allowed to use it

We use this information because we have a legitimate interest in replying to people who contact us and in keeping the website running safely, and, where you ask about using FarmHerd, to take the steps you asked for before any agreement.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it, delete it, or stop using it. Email [email protected].

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, though we would like the chance to put it right first.

The FarmHerd app

The FarmHerd app, where farms keep their records, has its own privacy policy, which you are shown before you create an account.
